Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 20, 2026
These terms apply to The Human Flags, an interactive digital artwork and flag race platform available at thehumanflags.com. For questions about the platform or these terms, contact info@thehumanflags.com.
1. The digital product
A pixel (also called a Human Mark) is a digital contribution to a selected country's public flag. Each country has a target of 100,000 pixels. Each purchase either adds pixels to the selected flag or removes pixels from it, as chosen before checkout. Added pixels can be removed by other players until the flag finishes; their continued presence or a particular rank is not guaranteed. Completed flags are protected from further changes. Rankings reflect confirmed pixel totals and completion order.
2. Quantity and pricing
Each pixel added or removed costs €1.00. You may purchase an action for 1–25 pixels per checkout, subject to availability. Additions are limited by the flag's remaining capacity; removals are limited by its confirmed pixel total. Completed flags no longer accept purchases. Pending checkouts can temporarily reserve availability.
Purchases are one-time payments with no subscription or recurring charge. Applicable taxes and the final payable amount are displayed in checkout. See Pricing.
3. Payment and delivery
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com, the merchant of record for purchases. Paddle handles payment-related customer service inquiries and eligible refunds. We provide support for the platform and delivery of your selected action. Purchases are also subject to Paddle's Buyer Terms.
Your selected action is applied after payment confirmation. Processing and public updates may take a short time; pending or failed payments do not count as confirmed contributions. Each confirmed purchase is applied once. A particular processing time, position in the processing order or resulting rank is not guaranteed.
4. Immediate digital delivery and refunds
At checkout you request digital delivery to begin as soon as payment is confirmed and acknowledge that, where applicable law permits, your withdrawal right is lost once delivery begins.
After your selected add or remove action has been delivered, we do not offer refunds for a change of mind. Suspected accidental duplicate payments, unauthorized payments and missing or defective delivery can be reported for investigation. Mandatory consumer rights and Paddle's applicable terms and refund decisions remain unaffected. See our Refund Policy for eligibility and how to request help.
5. Names and contribution history
No account is required. Provide a display name or choose Anonymous. Names must be lawful and must not infringe another person's rights. Your browser's guest cookie connects purchases to My contributions; clearing cookies or using another browser can disconnect that history.
Confirmed contributions appear on the selected country's public contributors page with the chosen public name, totals of pixels added and removed, and the date of the latest contribution. Public activity notifications may also show the name, country, action and quantity. Choosing Anonymous hides your name from these displays. Named and anonymous contributions are kept separate in the public contributor list.
6. Responsible use and availability
Provide accurate payment information and do not misuse checkout, impersonate others or interfere with the service. We take reasonable care to operate the platform, but availability and live updates may be interrupted. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Privacy and changes
Our Privacy Policy explains how purchase and browser data are handled. We may update these terms and publish a revised date. The terms presented when you purchase apply to that purchase.
